Deputy Systems Engineer
Work alongside the Lead Systems & Software Engineer to build and maintain BlueHarbor's Operations platform, website and integrations. A hands-on delivery role with real ownership and a clear path to grow.

Responsibilities
The role
- Deliver features across the stack — TypeScript/React front-ends, database changes and edge/serverless functions.
- Own assigned modules of the Operations platform and the public website end to end.
- Write secure, well-tested, reviewable code and help maintain engineering standards.
- Support data modelling, migrations, integrations and automation.
- Help with monitoring, releases, bug triage and incident response.
- Step up for the Lead Systems Engineer when required.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- Solid experience building web applications with TypeScript/JavaScript and React.
- Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL (PostgreSQL a plus).
- Exposure to APIs, authentication and cloud/serverless services.
- Good engineering habits: version control, testing and code review.
- Eager to learn, dependable, and strong attention to detail.
- Degree in a computing field or equivalent demonstrable capability
- a portfolio/GitHub is welcome.
